William T. Cavanaugh, Ph.D.

William T. Cavanaugh, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas. He holds degrees from the universities of Notre Dame, Cambridge, and Duke. Cavanaugh is the author of Torture and Eucharist: Theology, Politics, and the Body of Christ (Oxford: Blackwell, 1998) and Theopolitical Imagination (Edinburgh: T. & T. Clark, 2002), both of which have also been published in French by Editions Ad Solem of Geneva. He is also co-editor of The Blackwell Companion to Political Theology (Oxford: Blackwell, 2004).
